Divemaster Internship Program
Follow the footsteps of the pirates who lived on the island hundreds of years ago - it's rumored that a few even left some treasure behind, especially on the East end of the island closest to CoCo View. Swing through the trees on one of Roatan's adventurous canopy tours. Relax and enjoy the white sand and crystal clear water of West Bay Beach. There are glass-bottom boats, botanical gardens, horseback riding, snorkeling, submarine rides, an iguana farm, and many other options too numerous to detail. When you venture out from the resort, Roatan has many restaurants and night spots frequented by the local dive staffs and tourists, as well as souvenir and craft shops all over the island. There is an ATM at the airport, 2 in West End, one in French Harbour and 3 in the town of Coxen Hole. All give local currency (lempiras) but all sometimes not reliable. The lempira-dollar exchange rate is approximately 18.93 to 1 as of October 2011, but will fluctuate from time to time. French Harbour is the closest town to CoCo View and is also host to a large grocery store (one of the best on the island). If you have extra time after the completion of your diving internship, you may want to check out the gorgeous rain forest of Pico Bonito (easily reached from La Ceiba, on the mainland) and do some white-water rafting while you’re there. Or, head over to one of the other Bay Islands for some exploring; Utila and Guanaja and Cayos Cochinos are always fun, interesting destinations.

Even though your scuba internship will be busy and the Divemaster Course requirements are time-consuming, when you do decide to take a day off, the island of Roatan has plenty to offer. Beautiful beaches, lush vegetation, fascinating history, warm, generous people and opportunity for adventure are all at your fingertips.
